Carillon Bells!

I forgot to tell you guys something!

On Sunday we went up with Brother Whipple, who is a fairly well-known organist, I believe, and he and his wife are the music service couple here. He goes to the YMCA in Jerusalem every sunday at 11:15 a.m. and plays songs on the Carillon bells in the tower there. He lets students come and play them too, if they get there in time. So I had the opportunity to play them! How exciting is that?

I played "I know that my Redeemer Lives." It's funny, cause they don't care if we play hymns, cause they just sound pretty, and nobody knows what they are or anything.

Anyway, it was really fun!

This is me, playing the Carillon bells :) It's like a piano, but you have to pull and push the pedals.

  1. How cool you got to play the bells! And to hear "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" echoing from the tower over the city of Jerusalem.....goose bumps! Reminds me of singing "The Spirit of God" in the Kirtland Temple......
